This is the privacy note for the Derivative website (derivativemedia.com), run by Derivative Media LLC. Each of our apps has its own, more detailed policy; see the Moss privacy policy.

The short version

The site keeps lightweight, aggregate analytics and nothing else.

There are no accounts, no ads, and no cookies. We don't ask who you are, and we don't try to work it out.

Analytics

To see which pages and links are useful, the site records page views and clicks through PostHog (posthog.com), our processor, hosted in the United States. It runs cookieless: nothing is stored on your device, so there's no cookie banner to dismiss, and your visits aren't stitched together into a profile across sessions.

Like every web request, your visit carries your IP address. PostHog uses it to work out an approximate location (country, region, and city) so we can see roughly where readers are, and stores it with the event. It is never used to identify you, build a profile of you, or follow you across other sites. We don't record your screen, and we don't sell, share, or combine this data with data from other apps or data brokers.

The contact form

If you use the contact form, the name, email, and message you enter are sent to us (through Netlify, our form processor) only so we can reply. We don't add you to any list, and we don't use it for anything else.

What we never do

• No cookies, no fingerprinting, no cross-site or cross-device tracking.
• No accounts or personal profiles.
• No selling or sharing of personal data, ever.
