Sharp tools. Soft edges. An independent studio, obsessed with the details.

We make apps and games for iPhone. We design them intentionally, and care as much about how they feel as how they look.

Made with care. A puzzle gets the same attention as a sound app. Nothing ships until it's right.

Private by design. Every app's privacy policy is short, and meant to be read.

A real free tier. The free version stands on its own. Paying only adds to it.

The bar every app clears.

Before anything ships, it goes through the same short list.

01

Native Swift, no wrappers. A real iPhone app, not a web page in a shell.

02

One screen wherever possible. The fewer places to tap, the better.

03

Fast to open. No splash screen, no spinner to sit through.

04

A privacy policy you can read in a minute. Short because there genuinely isn't much to disclose.

05

A free tier you'd actually keep. The free version is a real app, not a locked demo.

Made to feel right.

Derivative is a word from calculus: the rate at which something changes. A fitting name for a studio that means to keep changing, more apps and more kinds of them, each one a step past the last.

We build the apps and games we wish already lived on our phones. What we're really after is how they feel to use, the weight of a tap, the timing of an animation, the detail you'd never name but would miss. So we stay on the details well past the point of reason, and nothing ships until it's right.

Two so far, with more coming. The bar doesn't move: each one has to be something we'd keep on our own phone, and reach for without thinking.
